Los Angeles Dodgers rumors

March 19: Did the Dodgers win the offseason?
The Dodgers already had a star-studded roster, but after an early exit from the postseason in 2023, the club went all out during the offseason to improve their chances of winning another World Series title.

Los Angeles’ offseason was centered around Shohei Ohtani, who signed a record-setting 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers. But the two-way superstar was far from the only big name the team added.

The Dodgers went on to sign Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a 12-year, $325 million contract. They also swung a trade with the Rays for Tyler Glasnow, then signed the hard-throwing righty to a five-year, $136.5 million contract.

Los Angeles followed that by signing right-handed slugger Teoscar Hernández to a one-year, $23.5 million deal and capped off its offseason haul by re-signing left-hander Clayton Kershaw to a one-year deal with a player option for 2025.

Having accomplished all of that, the Dodgers landed atop MLB.com reporter Anthony Castrovince’s list of the teams that “won the offseason.”
