Injury: Surgery on both heels
Expected return: Opening Day?
Status: Nootbaar underwent surgery on Oct. 7. He is currently in California and on track with his progression. He won't arrive at Cardinals camp until after the team's first full-squad workout on Feb. 16 as the club is waiting for a specialized type of rehab equipment to arrive at its spring complex. (Updated: Feb. 13)

RHP
Injury: Torn right ACL
Expected return: TBD
Status: Dobbins tore the ACL in his right knee in July, about five months before he was acquired from Boston in the Willson Contreras trade. He is able to pitch but is being held out of agility drills. The Cardinals hope to have a clearer timetable for him next week. (Updated: Feb. 13)

LHP
Injury: Left shoulder surgery
Expected return: TBD
Status: Thompson underwent surgery in August to clean up his left shoulder. He is on a throwing program, but he won't be cleared to pitch in games until some point in the regular season. (Updated: Feb. 13)
