The 2016 Seattle Mariners Caravan hits the road on Monday, January 11, with the first stops in Yakima.
Over a three-week period (January 11-29), the Caravan will visit some two dozen communities across the Pacific Northwest.
At various stops on the Caravan, current and former Seattle Mariners players, announcers, and the Mariner Moose host assemblies for elementary school students, meet Boys & Girls Club members, visit hospitals, and host free public autograph and photo sessions.
Scheduled to appear on Week 1 are outfielder Stefen Romero, infielder/outfielder Shawn O'Malley, broadcaster Aaron Goldsmith and the Mariner Moose.

In addition to the first day's stops in Yakima, the first week of the Caravan includes Wenatchee, Spokane, Walla Walla, Tri-Cities and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Tri-Cities native Shawn O'Malley was signed by the Mariners to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training on January 22, 2015. The Mariners promoted him on September 1, 2015. In his first game with the Mariners, he went 3 for 4 with three singles, two RBIs, and a stolen base in an 8-3 win over the Houston Astros. At AAA Tacoma, O'Malley hit .297 with 50 runs scored, 39 RBI and 20 stolen bases.
Outfielder Stefen Romero spent the majority of the 2015 season with AAA Tacoma, but also all appeared in 13 games with Seattle after being promoted on Sept. 1. At Tacoma, Romero batted .292 and hit 37 doubles. He was among the Pacific Coast League leaders in extra base hits, doubles and total bases. In 2012, Romero was named Mariners Minor League Player of the Year.
Broadcaster Aaron Goldsmith is beginning his fourth season in the Mariners radio booth where he teams with lead announcer Rick Rizzs. Goldsmith is also host of the Mariners Hot Stove League Show, the Cactus League Report and Mariners Magazine pregame program.
