The Oakland A's recalled outfielder Andrew Lambo from Triple-A Nashville and placed left-handed pitcher Felix Doubront on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left elbow, the club announced today.
Lambo batted .333 with two home runs and five RBI in 25 games this spring before he was optioned to Nashville on Saturday. He was claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh on Nov. 6, 2015. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter went 1-for-25 (.040) in 20 games with the Pirates last year before going on the disabled list May 6 with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He missed the remainder of the season.
Doubront went 1-1 with a save and a 5.82 ERA in six games, including four starts, this spring. He left his last start on Saturday against San Francisco after just one inning with the elbow injury. The 28-year-old left-hander combined with Toronto and Oakland to go 3-3 with a save and a 5.50 ERA in 16 games, including 12 starts, last year.
