The Chicago White Sox announce promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Red Sox and Twins.

The Chicago White Sox announce promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Red Sox and Twins. 
On Saturday, May 7, the White Sox invite fans to rally behind lefty ace Chris Sale with two in-park promotions. The first 20,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a Chris Sale K-Counter Bobblehead, presented by Wintrust Community Banks. Also, fans with tickets in Sections 154-156 will have the opportunity to sit in the K Zone For Sale, which includes a "K Zone For Sale" T-shirt and strikeout card. K Zone For Sale tickets for May 7 are available for $20 at whitesox.com/kzone. Please note that the pitching rotation is subject to change. 
The upcoming homestand will be the last time Red Sox great David Ortiz visits U.S. Cellular Field. The White Sox will honor Ortiz in a pregame ceremony Thursday. Ortiz previously announced his retirement following this season, his 20th in the Major Leagues.
The homestand welcomes the return of cultural celebrations and fan-favorite giveaways and events, including Free T-Shirt Thursday and Cinco de Miller on May 5, Italian Heritage Night on May 6 and Coca-Cola Family Sunday with an exclusive children's autograph session on Sunday, May 8.
There will be three National Anthem performances by Chicagoland schools, including: Mother McAuley High School on May 3, Liberty Junior High School on May 4 and Thomas Kelly High School on May 6.

John "Jojo" Hermann, the keyboardist for American rock band Widespread Panic, will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Widespread Panic celebrates three decades in the music industry, releasing 12 studio albums and 43 live albums and setting attendance records at major venues throughout the country. The band will be performing for a sold-out crowd at the Chicago Theatre on May 5.

The White Sox invite fans to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 5 with Cinco de Miller, presented by Miller Lite. Entertainment includes a pregame performance by Banda Nueva Raza at Gate 4, an on field set and National Anthem by Mariachi Monumental de Mexico as well as dancing by the Mexican Dance Ensemble (MDE). Fans are encouraged to taste the ballpark's Mexican food offerings - including 35th Street tacos and elotes -- and stop by the Cinco de Miller party shop in Section 159. As part of the Free T-Shirt Thursdays promotion, the first 10,000 fans (ages 21 and over) will receive a specially designed "Los White Sox" T-shirt, presented by Miller Lite.
Friday, May 6, 7:10 p.m. vs. Twins

Fans have the opportunity to enjoy Italian entertainment as the White Sox hold Italian Heritage Night, presented by Beggars Pizza. Singer Frank Lampherewill perform an on-field performance in celebration of Italian Heritage Night, as well as a Gate 4 performance with the Rat Pack Jazz Band. The Nick Ponterelli Band will perform in the Miller Lite Bullpen Sports Bar. Fans are invited to stop by the Italian Heritage Night party shop in Section 159 to purchase Italian scarfs and other items. The postgame fireworks presentation also will feature Italian music.
The Kelly High School Cantantes Choir, a mixed ensemble of about 50 voices, will perform the National Anthem. The choir is the premiere vocal group for Thomas Kelly High School, a Chicago Public School.

Chris Sale K-Counter Bobbleheads, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, will be distributed to the first 20,000 fans to enter the ballpark. Fans can use the bobblehead to tally the Sox ace's strikeouts, as Sale is scheduled to start on May 7. Fans with tickets in Sections 154-156 will have the opportunity to sit in the K Zone For Sale, which includes a "K Zone For Sale" T-shirt and strikeout card. These items can be picked up at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. "K Zone For Sale" tickets are available for $20 for most games at whitesox.com/kzone, with the exception of Coca-Cola Family Sundays when the tickets are $15 and the Crosstown Cup games (all subject to availability). The White Sox will celebrate Mother-Son Night on May 7. Mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, mother figures and their sons are invited to enjoy a night at the ballpark. Family-friendly activities will be available throughout the ballpark, including face painters and a balloonist as well as a party shop in Section 159. Specially priced tickets are available as low as $14 at whitesox.com/mom.
World War II veteran Leon Cooper will be honored as the White Sox Hero of the Game. The 96-year-old Chicago native has dedicated five decades to bringing home his fallen comrades from the Battle of Tarawa and other historic World War II battle sites. His story has been recounted in the several documentaries, including "Return to Tarawa: the Leon Cooper Story," "Until They are Home" and - the newest documentary - "Return to New Guinea." He also will be honored in a pregame ceremony.

2016 Honorary Bat Girl Peggy Kupres, a breast cancer survivor and long-time Sox fan who met her husband at Old Comiskey Park, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Kupres is one of 30 MLB 2016 Honorary Bat Girl Contest winners, which is awarded to women who have been affected by breast cancer and gone above and beyond to demonstrate a commitment to fight this disease. She is a medical professional who, after her personal diagnosis and surgeries, transitioned from an operating room nurse to a life-long advocate and resource for cancer patients. Kupres has brought communities together by creating several "Pink" events and dedicating countless hours of support helping others cope with a cancer diagnosis. She will be honored during a special pre-game ceremony at U.S. Cellular Field with White Sox left-handed pitcher Zach Duke, who served as a guest judge to help select the winning entry.
Coca-Cola Family Sunday offers tickets as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Entertainment includes children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist and magnet art. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kids menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays. Additionally, the first 200 children who purchase children's autograph session and ticket packages will be able to participate in an autograph session at 10:30 a.m. These packages are available for $25 at whitesox.com/autographs.
