Astros to Host In-State Rival Texas Rangers for Weekend Series

Beginning tomorrow, the Astros host the in-state and division rival Texas Rangers for a three game series, May 20-22. The Lone Star Series, presented by AT&T, represents the 19-game season series between the two ballclubs and will decide the winner of the Silver Boot. The Astros won the Silver Boot in 2014 and the Rangers took home the trophy in 2015. The Rangers currently lead the series, 3-0.

Friday, May 20 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Texas Rangers
Big and Bright Friday Night fireworks return this Friday, featuring a "Texas Country" musical theme to kick off the Lone Star Series. Fireworks begin approximately 15 minutes following the conclusion of Friday's 7:10 p.m. game vs. the Texas Rangers.
Prior to Friday's contest, Alvin, TX native US Army Sergeant Jolene Schneider will throw out a ceremonial first pitch as part of AT&T's Lone Star Series Weekend. Schneider served in South Korea and Iraq, earning a Combat Action Badge and Defense Meritorious Service Medal during her deployment. She works with the Lone Survivor Foundation and has a strong history of supporting soldiers when they return home. The Lone Survivor Foundation restores, empowers and renews hope for wounded service members and their families through health, wellness and therapeutic support.
Saturday, May 21 - 6:15 p.m. vs. Texas Rangers
Prior to Saturday's 6:15 p.m. contest, 10,000 fans will receive a Lone Star Series T-Shirt, presented by AT&T. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early to receive this weekend's promotional giveaways, as supplies are limited and not guaranteed.
May 21 is also Armed Forces Day. Astros RHP Scott Feldman will be hosting 30 members of the Wounded Warrior Project for the game, and 75 wounded veterans and family members from Impact a Hero will attend the game as guests of the Houston Astros.
Prior to Saturday's game, US Air Force Security Police veteran Ken Meyer will throw out a ceremonial first pitch as part of AT&T's Lone Star Series Weekend. Meyer is a Lone Survivor Foundation volunteer and a man on a mission to raise awareness for Post-Traumatic Stress, as well as the Lone Survivor Foundation's program helping those with invisible injuries of war.
Saturday's game will be nationally broadcast on TV exclusively on FOX. The game will also be available on the Astros flagship radio stations, KBME 790 AM and La Nueva 94.1 FM.
Sunday, May 22 - 1:10 p.m. vs. Texas Rangers
Keuchel's Korner, presented by Houston Methodist, is back this Sunday, May 22. Tickets for the dedicated fan section, located in sections 105 and 106, include a signature Dallas Keuchel beard giveaway and an exclusive Keuchel's Korner T-shirt. On Sunday, the Astros are set to PLAY BALL, presented by Chevrolet, and in participation with MLB's league-wide initiative. Free tickets to Sunday's game will be provided to approximately 200 athletes from the Astros Community Leaders program, and several kids will take the field with Astros players for the National Anthem and participate in an on-field cap exchange. Additionally, 10,000 children in attendance on Sunday will receive a PLAY BALL Bat and Ball set, courtesy of Chevrolet, upon exit of the ballpark.
Fans should note that gates will open on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. prior to that day's 1:10 p.m. contest.

Tuesday, May 24 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Baltimore Orioles
The Texas Department of Transportation is launching its "Share the Road: Look Twice for Motorcycles" campaign to remind drivers to always look out for motorcycles. Fans attending Tuesday's game will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with a giant, 25-foot motorcycle as part of the Texas Department of Transportation's traveling motorcycle safety awareness exhibit, located at the Plaza on Crawford Street. The exhibit also will include a variety of activities to encourage Texas drivers to always look twice for vulnerable motorcyclists.
