Starting on Memorial Day, the Phillies will host the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park (May 30 - June 1). For all games this series, Ashburn Alley opens at 5:05 p.m., all gates open at 5:35 p.m. and each game time is 7:05 p.m. Below are some of the must-know highlights when coming to the ballpark.
On Monday, May 30, the entire Phillies roster will wear a Memorial Day uniform that makes use of a new "woodland" camouflage pattern licensed by the US Marine Corps. In addition to a camouflage cap, jerseys will feature this same pattern on wordmarks and player numbers, with the Phillies team logo patch re-colored green and brown to match the camouflage color scheme.
The uniforms are just one of the many military highlights that day, worn in support of Major League Baseball's Welcome Back Vets Program.
Memorial Day will feature a very special Phillies salute to the nation's military. Fans are invited to be in their seats by 6:30 p.m. for the tribute, which includes:
Plus, stop by Section 136 (outside of the Majestic Clubhouse Store) to write thank you notes to military members. The notes will be mailed over the holidays and included in care packages being sent to active military that are deployed.
Monday is also First Responders Night - and it will be an emotional one for 15-year old Trevor Newhouse. He went into sudden cardiac arrest while playing a soccer game at local Pennbrook Middle School - and thankfully a family friend/first responder John Izak was on-site at the time, and rushed out to help save his life through CPR and a defibrillator. Now, Trevor and John are pushing for defibrillators at all schools - and the two will be recognized on the field.
Also, the first 500 fans that purchase tickets through this special First Responders Night promotion will receive a coupon for an exclusive Phillies First Responders Night Duffle Bag.
Before the game on Tuesday, May 31, the Phillies will host the ultimate major league experience for women, beginning at 9:30 a.m. For more information on this all-day event, please visit www.phillies.com/baseball101 or call 215-463-1000.
Fans are invited to stop by Section 116/117, and vote via Phillies tablets for their favorite players to be on the 2016 All-Star team. Those who vote five times in the ballpark using the special tablets will receive an All-Star ballot T-shirt or sunglasses.
All games this series will be presented on Comcast SportsNet, MLB.TV and SportsRadio 94WIP.
