Cardinals sign 2016 first round pick Dylan Carlson

The St. Louis Cardinals announced they have signed 2016 first round pick, 33rd overall selection, Dylan Carlson, as well as 19 additional players, to minor league contracts.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced they have signed 2016 first round pick, 33rd overall selection, Dylan Carlson, as well as 19 additional players, to minor league contracts.
Carlson, an outfielder from Elk Grove High School in California, was the Cardinals second pick in the first round in this year's draft. Joining Carlson as draft picks signed today were 4th rounder Jeremy Martinez, a catcher from the University of Southern California, and shortstop Tommy Edman out of Stanford University. 
Six of the Cardinals 12 picks in the Top 10 rounds were signed today as well as one non-drafted free agent, righthanded pitcher Levi MaVorhies out of Kansas State University.
The Cardinals have until July 15 at 4:00 p.m. CT, to sign players from the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
