In celebration of the Fourth of July holiday, all Orioles uniformed personnel will wear "Stars & Stripes" jerseys and caps on Monday, July 4, when the Orioles visit the Los Angeles Dodgers at 9:10 p.m. ET. The uniform will feature a Baltimore gray road jersey with a stars pattern within the twill and an American flag patch located on the right sleeve. The red road caps will feature a star design and the Orioles cartoon bird logo.
Game-worn jerseys and caps will be autographed, authenticated, and auctioned on www.orioles.com/auctionto benefit the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro) through the Orioles Charitable Foundation beginning Friday, July 1, at 12:00 p.m. and ending Thursday, July 7, at 10:00 p.m. Proceeds will support USO-Metro's vital programs for local service members and their families, including support of those that are injured, ill, and recovering.
At a future home game, Orioles reliever Darren O'Day and his wife, Elizabeth, will present a check to USO-Metro for proceeds raised from the auction. Together, they will also host service members and their families for a special meet-and-greet event at the ballpark.
The Orioles recent auction of game-worn, blue-accented Father's Day jerseys and caps raised nearly $27,000 for the Prostate Cancer Discovery Fund of the Brady Urological Institute of Johns Hopkins Medicine through the Orioles Charitable Foundation.
