Players are subject to change. Fans who purchase a calendar can receive one autograph per person, and fans attending the event may park for free in Lot J (adjacent to BARCS).
Additionally, on August 20, the first 25,000 fans 15 and over who attend that night's 7:05 p.m. Orioles game against the Houston Astros will receive a Crush Davis and Samson Superhero bobblehead.
The Orioles have helped to raise $180,000 for BARCS over the last few years, including $61,000 through Orioles pet calendar sales of the 2015-16 edition. The largest companion animal shelter in Maryland, BARCS takes in more than 12,000 dogs and cats and 1,000 wildlife and other small mammals annually. On any given day, BARCS cares for 110 dogs and 110 cats in the shelter, plus more than 800 animals in foster care.
"Not only is the Orioles Pet Calendar a fun way to showcase BARCS' adoptable animals and to see the players in a different light, but it is a lifesaving fundraiser for our shelter," said JENNIFER BRAUSE, Executive Director of BARCS. "The sales from the calendar provide things like food, surgery, and medical care for the more than 12,000 homeless animals that will come to BARCS in 2017 - it is a lifeline for our shelter. We are beyond grateful to be a part of this wonderful project again this year."
On Sunday, August 21, during a pregame ceremony at Oriole Park, representatives from Pet+E.R. will present a check to BARCS for $8,000. Brause will accept the check on behalf of BARCS and also be honored as the Birdland Community Hero during that day's game.
Orioles catcher MATT WIETERS, and his wife, MARIA, were instrumental in the production of the 2017 Pet Calendar.
"We have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to partner with BARCS for so many years during the production of the calendar," said Maria Wieters. "To see how many lives we have impacted is tremendous, and we are thankful to be a small part of their tireless efforts to serve the Baltimore community. It is a joy for the players, families, and staff to join forces in their love for animals and our city."
