White Sox place Miguel Gonzalez on DL and recall Chris Beck from AAA Charlotte

Prior to tonight's series opener at Miami, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin and recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Beck from Class AAA Charlotte.

Prior to tonight's series opener at Miami, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin and recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Beck from Class AAA Charlotte.
 
Beck, 26, has made six relief appearances with the White Sox this season, going 0-0 with an 8.10 ERA (6 ER/6.2 IP). He was on the 25-man roster from June 21-July 10. Beck has gone 5-4 with a 4.21 ERA (31 ER/66.1 IP) and 50 strikeouts in 22 games (seven starts) with the Knights in 2016, and is limiting left-handers to a .208 average (20-96) and .302 slugging percentage.
 
Gonzalez, 32, left last night's game with no outs in the bottom of the second inning due to the groin injury. He is 2-6 with a 4.05 ERA (46 ER/102.1 IP) in 19 appearances (18 starts) this season, his first with Chicago. He entered last night's start with a 2.76 ERA (14 ER/45.2 IP) and seven quality starts over his previous seven outings from July 1-August 5.
