Mariners recall outfielder Norichika Aoki from AAA Tacoma

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that outfielder Norichika Aoki has been recalled from AAA Tacoma.

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that outfielder Norichika Aoki has been recalled from AAA Tacoma.
 
Aoki will be in uniform (#8) and available for tonight's (7:10 pm PT) game vs. Texas.
 
Aoki, 34, appeared in 8 games with the Rainiers after being optioned to Tacoma postgame on Aug. 26. Aoki is 4-for-his-last-12 (.333) over his last 4 games with the Rainiers. Overall, he hit .226 (7x31) with 4 runs, 1 double, 1 home run and 3 RBI over the 8 games at AAA.
 
Immediately prior to being optioned, Aoki hit .316 (31x98) with 11 runs, 9 doubles, 1 triple, 5 RBI and a .362 on-base percentage in 31 games with Seattle after being recalled on July 20. He hit .369 (24x65) with 13 runs, 4 doubles, 4 RBI, 8 walks and 3 stolen bases in 16 previous games with AAA Tacoma. Aoki hit safely in 11 of 16 games with Tacoma, including recording 8 multi-hit contests. Before being optioned to Tacoma on June 24, Aoki hit .245 (61x249) with 36 runs, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run, 11 RBI, 22 walks and 4 stolen bases in 67 games with Seattle.
