The Pirates have signed first baseman/outfielder Joey Terdoslavich to a minor league contract, which includes a non-roster invitation to spring training.
The 28-year-old Terdoslavich spent the 2016 season in the Baltimore organization and hit a combined .233 (105-for-451) with 24 doubles, 14 home runs and 62 RBI in 126 games between Triple-A Norfolk and Double-A Bowie. He made a total of 98 appearances at first base, 10 in right field and 18 as the designated hitter between the two clubs.
Selected by Atlanta in the sixth round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, Terdoslavich took home Minor League Player-of-the-Year honors in 2011 and was named to the Carolina League's mid- and post-season All-Star teams after leading the league in doubles (52) and ranking third in batting average (.286) and home runs (20) and fourth in RBI (82).
He entered the 2012 campaign tabbed by Baseball America as Atlanta's 11th-best prospect and was named Gwinnett's Player-of-the-Year in 2013 while also being named to the International League's mid- and post-season All-Star teams that season.
Terdoslavich made his Major League debut with the Braves in 2013 and has made 20 appearances (14 starts) at first base, 15 appearances (seven starts) in left field and six appearances (five starts) in right field in his big league career.
