Major League Baseball and Church & Dwight (NYSE: CHD) announced a renewed sponsorship agreement, extending a partnership that began in 2014. Church & Dwight will continue to focus its attention on two of its leading brands as part of the multi-year extension. ARM & HAMMERTM will continue to be designated the Official Laundry Detergent of MLB, while OxiCleanTM remains the league's Official Stain Fighter.
"We are excited to be continuing our great partnership with MLB. This program continues to provide a platform to engage and educate baseball fans about our products in new and meaningful ways and helps us build strong programs with our Retailers," said Melissa Martin, Church & Dwight VP, Fabric Care.
Church & Dwight will focus a majority of their promotional activity online with multiple digital campaigns as part of this agreement. These campaigns include the sweepstakes "All-Star Mom" and "Clean Up & Win," and a presenting sponsorship of MLB media assets' coverage related to National Food Days during the season.
The Arm & Hammer All-Star Mom contest allows fans to nominate mothers across the country who they think are an "All-Star Mom." The first of a six-part video (http://bit.ly/allstarmoms) that features MLB Youth Softball Ambassador and former Olympic Gold Medalist Jennie Finch, Debbie Trout (mother of Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout) and Amber Sabathia (wife of New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia) debuts today on MLB.com to help launch the campaign. The winning "All-Star Mom" receives four tickets to each of the following All-Star events this July in South Florida: 2017 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, T-Mobile Home Run Derby, SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, All-Star Legends & Celebrities Softball Game and All-Star FanFest. They also win airfare and hotel accommodations, all courtesy of Church & Dwight. This is the third consecutive year that Church & Dwight is sponsoring the "All-Star Mom" contest.
"Church & Dwight has been a great partner over the last three years and we're excited to work with them to continually showcase baseball through a variety of unique promotional activity like 'All-Star Mom,'" said Noah Garden, MLB Executive Vice President, Business.
Church & Dwight is using the OxiClean brand as its presenting sponsorship of the National Food Days coverage on MLB Network, MLB.com and MLB social media channels, while "Clean Up & Win" is an enter-to-win contest open to all baseball fans, which gives a chance to win tickets to the All-Star Game presented by Mastercard or Game One of the 2017 World Series.
