July 5th, 2017

This weekend, the LADY JAYS will once again rally behind a good cause for the 33rd Annual Lady Jays Food Drive, in support of Food Banks Canada. Fans attending the Blue Jays vs. Astros series can donate non-perishable food items or make a monetary contribution at any gate. Mystery bags containing an autographed baseball cap from a current player, coach, or alumni will also be available for purchase at Gates 3, 5 & 6, and 10 & 11.
In addition to fan contributions, The Sprott Foundation has enthusiastically agreed to match all monetary donations collected throughout the weekend up to $50,000. This builds on The Sprott Foundation's partnership with Jays Care Foundation.
Food collected this weekend will assist local food bank affiliates in Toronto, while cash donations will benefit Food Banks Canada to support national programs. Last year, the Lady Jays Food Drive collected 4,465 lbs of food and raised more than $76,000 through fan donations and a matching contribution from The Sprott Foundation.
Fans across the country can support the Lady Jays Food Drive online at foodbankscanada.ca or by donating food, funds, or time to their local food bank.
The Lady Jays Food Drive is the longest-running community initiative in Blue Jays history. The Lady Jays represent the wives, girlfriends, and family members of Toronto Blue Jays players and coaches.
