Detroit Tigers Foundation Custom Bow Ties
The Detroit Tigers Foundation will sell limited edition custom bow ties in recognition of Pediatric Cancer Awareness month. Proceeds from the sale of the bow ties will benefit the Detroit Tigers Foundation and the ChadTough Foundation. Chad Carr was the grandson of former University of Michigan Head Football Coach, Lloyd Carr. In the fall of 2015, Chad sadly lost his battle with an inoperable brain tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Giloma (DIPG). In honor of Chad's favorite color, orange, the bow tie design features a pattern of orange home plates each with a likeness of Chad flexing his muscles. The home plates lay over a blue background, reminiscent of the hundreds of orange balloons released to the blue sky following Chad's celebration of life memorial service. The first 500 Bow Ties are numbered with a gold sticker on the custom Bow Tie box, in honor of Chad's love for stickers and featuring Gold, the color of Childhood Cancer Awareness. Bow ties can be purchased, while supplies last, during the broadcast auction or by visiting tigers.com/bowtie.
