7th annual San Diego Half Marathon & 5K returns March 11

The 7th Annual San Diego Half Marathon & 5K is proud to announce the return of the "epic finish" on the field at Petco Park. On Sunday, March 11, runners will compete in one of several distance options including a USATF-certified 13.1-mile half marathon, a two-person half marathon relay, and a USATF-certified 3.1-mile 5K. All races finish near home plate inside Petco Park which will have free admission and open seating to the public. Family and friends can cheer their loved ones on and enjoy post-race festivities including inflatables for kids and special discounts from local bars and restaurants.

New this year, aspiring runners ages 4-12 can join in a Kids Race presented by 2nd Recess, a local nonprofit running club for children 12 and under.
"The return of the epic finish inside the stadium allows our event to bring thousands of San Diegans and visitors together to enjoy our beautiful city in a really unique way," says Susan Briggs, Executive Director of the San Diego Half Marathon. "The feeling of running through the tunnel to finish inside Petco Park is something our participants will never forget. Everyone is welcome - from serious runners and weekend warriors to families, local charities, and volunteers."
The 2018 San Diego Half Marathon & 5K will benefit the following charities: Huntington's Disease Society of America, Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego, San Diego Police Officers' Association Widows & Orphans Fund, Team Red, White & Blue, Toys for Joy, The Skinny Gene Project, Sienna's PlayGarden, Mama's Kitchen, and Race Guards.
All finishers will receive a collectible medal, and half marathon, relay, and 5K participants receive premium perks including a gear bag, technical running shirt, post-race tote, live runner tracking, and a ticket to a select San Diego Padres baseball game.
Online registration is set to close on March 3 with a limited number of bibs available at the Sport, Health, and Fitness Expo on March 9 and 10.
