Houston Astros to Host Spring Training Home Opener Tomorrow

The World Champion Houston Astros will play their first game of 2018 Spring Training tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 23 at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches at 1:05 p.m. ET / 12:05 p.m. CT. The Astros take on their Spring Training neighbors, the NL East Division Champion Washington Nationals, for the Spring Home Opener, which will air live on AT&T SportsNet Southwest and 790 KBME AM.

The World Champion Houston Astros will play their first game of 2018 Spring Training tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 23 at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches at 1:05 p.m. ET / 12:05 p.m. CT. The Astros take on their Spring Training neighbors, the NL East Division Champion Washington Nationals, for the Spring Home Opener, which will air live on AT&T SportsNet Southwest and 790 KBME AM.
Fans are encouraged to take their seats in time for a special pregame ceremony. Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow will present the Commissioner's Trophy as the Astros celebrate their 2017 World Series Championship season.
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, FITTEAM was celebrated as the naming rights partner for the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. FITTEAM Executive VP of Business Development Ryan Hummel will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to tomorrow's Opening Day matchup.
Fans will have an opportunity to view and take photos with the Commissioner's Trophy over the course of World Series Weekend, beginning on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. ET and continuing on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until first pitch. Fans can also take photos with a 12-foot Replica Trophy at every Astros Spring Training home game.
HONORING THE MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Both the Astros and Nationals, along with the rest of Major League Baseball, will support the Parkland community and the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School by wearing the caps of the Stoneman Douglas Eagles baseball team during pregame and throughout tomorrow's afternoon matchup. They will also observe a moment of silence in honor and memory of those affected by last week's tragedy prior to the start of tomorrow's game.
Additionally, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Angelique Meneses will perform the National Anthem prior to tomorrow's first pitch. Angelique is the Secretary of the Florida Association of Student Councils and a Senator of the Senior Class Board.
The Astros will also proudly welcome Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagles baseball team head coach Todd Fitz-Gerald and his son, Eagles third baseman Hunter, who will accompany Astros GM Jeff Luhnow as he presents the Commissioner's Trophy on the field during pregame.
FITTEAM BALLPARK OF THE PALM BEACHES 2018 PROMOTIONS
Fans are invited to enjoy several new promotions at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches during 2018 Spring Training.
This Saturday, Feb. 24 is Bark in the Park! Fans are invited to bring their furry friends to the ballgame as the Astros take on the Atlanta Braves at 1:05 p.m. ET. A portion of the proceeds from a Bark in the Park ticket will benefit Peggy Adams Animal Rescue.
Prior to the 1:05 p.m. contest on March 1 between the Astros and AL East Division Champion Boston Red Sox, 1,000 fans will receive a foam "H's in the Air" hand, courtesy of Texas Mahindra Dealers.
Friday, March 2 is the first Big and Bright Friday Night fireworks display of Astros Spring Training! Fans will be treated to a special fireworks display after the Astros face off against the New York Mets at 6:05 p.m. ET. The second and final Big and Bright Friday Night will take place on Friday, March 9 following the Astros vs. St. Louis Cardinals 6:05 p.m. matchup.
