Major League Baseball announced today the promotion of Uzma Rawn to Group Director & Vice President of Sponsorship Sales. Rawn, who joined MLB in April 2015 as Senior Director of Sponsorship Sales, will be replacing the position vacated by Jim McCloud last month and will now report directly to Bill Morningstar, MLB Senior Vice President of Sponsorship Sales.
In her new position, Rawn will lead the team responsible for securing new sponsorship agreements and renewing Official League Partnerships. She will work with organizations to create holistic partnerships that reach millions of baseball fans through MLB's extensive assets including MLB.com, MLB Network, MLB digital properties and social channels, special events, use of MLB intellectual property in advertising and promotions and more. During her time at MLB, Rawn has been instrumental in securing high-level sponsorship agreements with Coca-Cola, Nathan's Famous, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and YouTube TV.
"Uzma has played an important role in developing new MLB sponsorships that have given fans more ways to enjoy baseball, expanded our promotional opportunities and grown our business," said Noah Garden, MLB Executive Vice President, Commerce. "Uzma's energy, knowledge, creativity and partner-friendly approach will continue to enable our sponsors to reach baseball fans with powerful and innovative MLB-themed promotions."
Prior to her tenure at Major League Baseball, Rawn worked at Premier Partnerships where she was responsible for new business development and growth. In that role, Rawn secured sponsorship agreements for MLB and NBA teams, the AFL and landmark New York properties like Grand Central Terminal and the Intrepid Museum.
Starting in 2006, Rawn spent four years at the National Basketball Association in the league's Team Marketing & Business Operations group. In 2015, Rawn was a Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 in Sports honoree and she is a graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Sport Management.
