Mets roster moves

The New York Mets today announced that the club has placed outfielder Jay Bruce on the Paternity Leave List, recalled infielder Dominic Smith from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League, recalled LHP Buddy Baumann from Las Vegas and placed RHP Hansel Robles on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to May 9, with a sprained right knee.

The New York Mets today announced that the club has placed outfielder Jay Bruce on the Paternity Leave List, recalled infielder Dominic Smith from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League, recalled LHP Buddy Baumann from Las Vegas and placed RHP Hansel Robles on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to May 9, with a sprained right knee.
Smith will wear #22 and will be available tonight in Philadelphia. Baumann will wear #77 and will serve a one-game suspension tonight for his involvement in an altercation between San Diego and Colorado earlier this season on April 11. 
Smith, 22, was hitting .278 (32-115) with eight doubles, one triple, two homers, 12 RBI and a .390 OBP in 31 games for the 51s this year. 
He batted .198 (33-167) with six doubles, nine home runs and 26 RBI in 49 games with the Mets in 2017. Smith's nine homers in 49 games was the fifth-most in team history through 49 games for a player who began his career with the Mets. 
Baumann, 30, has allowed one earned run in 4.2 innings (1.93 ERA) in four games with Las Vegas. He was claimed off waivers from San Diego on April 27. He appeared in one game with the Padres this year suffering the loss on April 11. In addition, the Chicago-native hurled 6.2 scoreless innings over eight appearances for El Paso (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.
The 5-11, 198-pounder is 3-2 with a 3.58 ERA (11 earned runs/27.2 innings) with 31 strikeouts in 35 major league games from 2016-2018.
Bruce, 31, is hitting .233 (28-120) with seven doubles, three homers and 14 RBI in 2018.
Robles, 27, is 2-1 with a 5.23 ERA (six earned runs/10.1 innings) in 10 games with the Mets this year.
