The Pirates return to PNC Park for the sixth homestand of the season, a quick three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The homestand is highlighted by Pups in the Park Night on Tuesday, June 5 and Wine Night on Wednesday, June 6.
Monday, June 4, 2018- Off Day
• Draft Night: Tonight, MLB will hold the 2018 First-Year-Player Draft starting at 7 p.m. and broadcast live on MLB Network. The Pirates have three selections in the first night of the draft as the Bucs own the 10th (first round), 36th (comp. balance round A) and 51st (second round) selections.
Tuesday, June 5, 2018-Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7:05 p.m.)
• Pirates Play Ball Team of the Game: The Pirates continue the season-long initiative honoring a youth baseball/softball team(s) of the game during every Tuesday home game. Tonight, the Pirates will honor the Northview Heights 12U Little League. The Northview Heights baseball program was relaunched in 2017 thanks to the efforts of area coaches. The team is the first 12U team from Northview Heights to participate in the Pittsburgh RBI Program and the official RBI Little League.
• Pups in the Park: Fans can enjoy Bucco baseball with their pooch as the Pirates host one of 11 Pup Nights, presented by Rachael Ray Nutrish, at PNC Park. Each ticket package (1 person & 1 dog) costs just $36 with additional human tickets available for $36 each. Wednesday, June 6, 2018-Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7:05 p.m.)
• Fun at Bat: Today, the Pirates will visit Pittsburgh Banksville K-5 at 11 a.m. as part of the Pirates and USA Baseball's Fun at Bat initiative. The Pirates partnered with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, USA Baseball and MLB to introduce the Fun At Bat program, a baseball fundamentals curriculum, throughout 36 Pittsburgh public elementary schools (grades K through 5) in the spring of 2018. The program, designed to provide physical education teachers with an easy, adaptable structure to teach bat and ball activities, provides students with detailed instructions including a dynamic warm-up, fundamentals, active play, and character development. Thursday, June 7, 2018-Pirates vs Los Angeles Dodgers (12:35 p.m.)
• Military Day: Come out to support and honor our brave American military service men and women. The Pirates will wear their new Military Days jerseys and special caps.
• On Field Military Ceremony: As part of today's Military Day efforts, a group from the Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans will be honored during a pregame on-field ceremony and hosted in the Pirates Charities Suite. Life Changing Service Dogs For Veterans is a collaborative effort between Veterans' Cable Service and Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc. to provide service canines to veterans who suffer from physical disabilities or cognitive challenges resulting from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
• 50/50 Raffle: Today's Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle, supported by Rivers Casino, will benefit the Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans
• Home Run Challenge: Today members from the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) will visit PNC Park as part of their awareness campaign for the Home Run Challenge. The MLB-PCF Home Run Challenge encourages everyone to join the fight against prostate cancer by raising awareness and funds for research through America's favorite pastime-baseball. During the Home Run Challenge, the Prostate Cancer Foundation invites MLB fans to pledge a donation for every home run hit from June 1 through Father's Day, June 17. Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffles
The Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle, supported by Rivers Casino, will take place during each Pirates home game throughout the season. Raffle ticket prices are two (2) tickets for $5, five (5) tickets for $10, 20 tickets for $20 and 80 tickets for $40, with all proceeds benefiting Pirates Charities. Raffle ticket sales close after the last out in the sixth inning. The winning number will be drawn and announced in the 8th inning and the winner will receive 50 percent of the total pot. Winning numbers will also be posted on pirates.com/5050raffle within three business days.
