Washington Nationals prospects Carter Kieboom and Luis Garcia have been selected to participate in the 2018 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game as a part of Major League Baseball's All-Star Sunday. Major League Baseball made the announcement.
Kieboom, 20, is hitting .314 with 20 doubles, 13 home runs, 53 RBI, 42 walks, seven stolen bases and 57 runs scored in 77 games between Single-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg. His .314 batting average ranks second among full-season Nationals farmhands, while his 13 home runs are tied for third in the system.
Kieboom began the season with Potomac - where he was named a Carolina League mid-season All-Star - before being promoted to Harrisburg on June 21. At the time of his promotion to Harrisburg, he ranked among Carolina League hitters in RBI (3rd, 46), hits (3rd, 73), home runs (T3rd, 11) and batting average (7th, .298). In 15 games with the Senators, he is hitting .383 (23-for-50) with a .567 slugging percentage (five doubles, two homers).
Kieboom entered the 2018 season rated by MLB.com as Washington's No. 3 prospect and by Baseball America as the organization's No. 4 prospect. He was selected in the first round (No. 28 overall) of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.
  
Garcia, 18, will represent the Washington Nationals as a member of the World Team. Recently promoted to Single-A Potomac, Garcia is hitting .294 with 14 doubles, four triples, three home runs, 31 RBI, 21 walks, eight stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 80 games between Single-A Hagerstown and Potomac this season. His .294 batting average is good for sixth among full-season Nationals farmhands. At 17-years-old at the start of the 2018 season, Garcia produced those numbers as the youngest player in the South Atlantic League.
As the second-youngest player in the Gulf Coast League in 2017, Garcia ranked 10th in the league with a .302 batting average and was third with 60 hits. His .302 average ranked second among Nationals farmhands in 2017.
Signed as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2016, Garcia entered the 2018 season rated by Baseball America as the No. 6 prospect in Washington's system and by MLB.com as the No. 9 prospect. 
The 2018 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will be played at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, July 15th at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The game, which is now in its 20th year, features the top Minor League prospects competing in a nine-inning contest as part of All-Star Sunday. The U.S. Team leads the all-time series, 12-7.
