Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced the following roster move Thursday:
·         Gordon Beckham, INF, outrighted to AAA Tacoma.
Beckham, 31, has hit .200 (7x35) with 1 run, 1 double, 1 RBI, 3 walks and 1 stolen base in 13 games over two stints (5/14-31 and 7/10-12) with the Mariners this season. In 70 games with AAA Tacoma this season, he has hit .305 (80x262) with 17 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs and 38 RBI with a .406 on-base percentage and a .469 slugging percentage (.876 OPS).
In parts of 10 Major League seasons with Chicago-AL (2009-14, 2015), Los Angeles-AL (2014), Atlanta (2016), San Francisco (2016) and Seattle (2017-c), he is a career .239 (758x3171) hitter with 174 doubles, 5 triples, 74 home runs and 336 RBI in 977 career games. The native of Atlanta, GA, was a 1st round selection (8th overall) by the Chicago White Sox in the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Georgia.
