Twins place Grossman on disabled list

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder Robbie Grossman on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain he suffered during Sunday afternoon's game vs. Kansas City.

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder Robbie Grossman on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain he suffered during Sunday afternoon's game vs. Kansas City. Grossman has hit .253 (70-for-277) with 17 doubles, four home runs and 34 RBI in 92 games this season, including a stretch of 26 games since July 1 in which he hit .312 (24-for-77).
To replace Grossman on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder Johnny Field from Triple-A Rochester. Field, who was claimed by the Twins off waivers from Tampa Bay on Friday, played 63 games this season with Tampa Bay, hitting .213 (36-for-169), with nine doubles, six home runs and 14 RBI.
