The Kansas City Royals will again help area families in need this holiday season by providing a Thanksgiving feast for the 13th-straight year at the City Union Mission on Tuesday.

Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy and a group of Royals associates will serve a meal at the mission's Men's Center, located at 1108 E. 10th St., starting at 12:30 p.m. Broadcaster Steve Physioc and another group of associates will be serving a meal at the Family Center, located at 1310 Wabash in Kansas City, Mo., beginning at noon.

Since 1924, the City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food and a safe place for thousands of poverty stricken and homeless men, women and children in the Kansas City area. The ministry receives no government support and relies solely on support from individuals, churches, foundations, organizations and businesses. Through their two locations, which are both open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, City Union Mission offers half of the emergency shelter beds in downtown Kansas City.
