It’ll be an outstanding group as always on the field for the All-Star Game this year. By definition, the All-Star Game always puts the game’s top players on display, of course, and this year is no exception. With full All-Star rosters announced Sunday, it’s time to dig into the relevant context.

Here are 12 stats & facts about the 2025 All-Star rosters.
Reserves revealed
• The Dodgers lead the way with five All-Stars. It’s the sixth straight All-Star team with at least five Dodgers reps. That’s tied with the 1949-54 Dodgers for the fourth-longest such streak, per Elias. They trail only the 1956-65 Yankees (10), 1936-43 Yankees (eight) and 1942-49 Cardinals (seven). Their five include legend selection Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw’s 11 seasons as an All-Star break a tie with Pee Wee Reese for most in Dodgers history.
• The Tigers are one of two AL teams with four All-Stars, with Tarik Skubal joining Riley Greene, Javier Báez and Gleyber Torres, who were named starters on Wednesday. This is the first time the Tigers have had at least four All-Stars since 2015 (Miguel Cabrera, Jose Iglesias, J.D. Martinez, David Price).
• The Mariners are the other team with four, as Andrés Muñoz, Bryan Woo and Julio Rodríguez join starter Cal Raleigh. It’s the first time the Mariners have at least four All-Stars since 2018 (Nelson Cruz, Edwin Díaz, Mitch Haniger, Jean Segura).
• Shane Smith is the second Rule 5 pick to be an All-Star in the first season after being drafted, joining Dan Uggla for the 2006 Marlins, per Elias. He’s the first rookie pitcher to be an All-Star for the White Sox and seventh rookie in franchise history overall, joining 2014 José Abreu, 1983 Ron Kittle, 1969 Carlos May, 1966 Tommie Agee, 1951 Jim Busby and 1951 Minnie Minoso.
• With Randy Rodríguez, Robbie Ray and Logan Webb, the Giants have three All-Star pitchers. That’s their second-most in a season, behind only 2011, when they had four, tied for second-most by any team in a season -- Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum, Ryan Vogelsong and Brian Wilson.
Starting squads
• As announced Wednesday, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is a starter. It’s his fifth All-Star selection overall. His father made it nine times. Guerrero Sr. and Jr. are the first father-son duo to each be All-Stars at least five times, per Elias. Guerrero Jr.’s fourth All-Star start will tie for the most in Blue Jays history, with José Bautista and Roberto Alomar.
• This will be Aaron Judge’s sixth season making an All-Star Game start. That will tie Bill Dickey for sixth-most seasons as an All-Star starter in Yankees history, behind only Mickey Mantle (11 seasons, 13 games), Yogi Berra (10, 11g), Joe DiMaggio (nine), Derek Jeter (nine) and Dave Winfield (seven).
• Jacob Wilson will be 23 years and 107 days old the day of the All-Star Game. The only players in A’s franchise history with an All-Star start at a younger age are 1971 Vida Blue (21y, 350d) and 1969 Reggie Jackson (23y, 66d). Wilson will be the second rookie shortstop to start the All-Star Game, joining Ron Hansen, who started both games in 1960, per Elias. Wilson and his father, Jack, are the first father/son duo to both be All-Star shortstops.
• The last time a Tigers outfielder started the All-Star Game was 2007, when Magglio Ordonez did so. Greene and Báez will be the fourth Tigers duo to start the same All-Star Game in the outfield, joining 1976 Ron LeFlore and Rusty Staub, 1961 G2 Rocky Colavito and Al Kaline and 1948 Hoot Evers and Pat Mullin.
• Báez (SS, 2B, OF) will be the fourth player to start an All-Star Game at three or more positions in his career (counting outfield as one position), per Elias. He will join Pete Rose (1B-2B-3B-OF), Harmon Killebrew (1B-3B-OF) and Albert Pujols (1B-OF-DH). Báez will be the first player to start All-Star Games both in the outfield and at shortstop in a career. Just 14 players entering 2025 have started at least one All-Star Game in both the outfield and infield in their careers. Báez will join the list this year.
• This will be the second time in the last three seasons the Dodgers have three non-pitchers start the All-Star Game, with Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Shohei Ohtani. Before this stretch, they hadn’t had three or more since 1980, when a franchise-record four non-pitchers started (Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell, Reggie Smith).
• No Cubs outfielder has started the All-Star Game since 2008 Kosuke Fukudome. Kyle Tucker and Pete Crow-Armstrong will be the second Cubs duo to start the same All-Star Game in the outfield, joining 1936 Frank Demaree and Augie Galan. At 23 years and 112 days on the day of the All-Star Game, Crow-Armstrong will be the second-youngest Cubs player to start the game (Addison Russell).
