For baseball, the future is nigh.
The 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game is underway at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, with a live broadcast on NBC/Peacock. This 27th edition of the midsummer prospect showcase is expected to feature talent from every Major League organization and nearly 40 players on the MLB Pipeline Top 100 Prospects list.

That group includes both starting pitchers.
The American League squad -- managed by Larry Bowa -- gives the ball to the game's top-ranked hurler. Mariners southpaw Kade Anderson (MLB's No. 5 prospect) comes into the start with a Minor League-leading 1.36 ERA and 0.69 WHIP, amassed as he's gone 8-1 for Double-A Arkansas.
National League skipper Shane Victorino counters with the Phillies' own Gage Wood (MLB No 51). The right-hander has put up a 3.44 ERA and .207 average against over 16 starts split evenly between Single-A Clearwater and Double-A Reading.
