World Baseball Classic, Inc. today announced an initial list of 30 players who have confirmed their participation in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. Among the 30 players, who span eight of the 16 competing countries and territories, are 24 Major League All-Stars. Additional players will be confirmed in the coming weeks and months. Each Federation is required to submit a proposed final roster to WBCI on or before February 6, 2017.
Among the confirmed players are: Canada's Russell Martin; Colombia's Jose Quintana and Julio Teheran; the Dominican Republic's Adrian Beltre, Dellin Betances, Robinson Canó, Nelson Cruz and Manny Machado; Mexico's Adrian Gonzalez, Oliver Perez and Roberto Osuna; the Kingdom of the Netherlands' Xander Bogaerts, Jonathan Schoop and Andrelton Simmons; Puerto Rico's Javier Baez, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Correa, Francisco Lindor and Yadier Molina; the United States' Chris Archer, Nolan Arenado, Adam Jones, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey and Max Scherzer; and Venezuela's Jose Altuve, Miguel Cabrera, Carlos Gonzalez, Felix Hernandez and Salvador Perez.
Ticket strips for the Championship Round - which will include tickets for each semi-final game and the final game - at Dodger Stadium are available beginning today at www.worldbaseballclassic.com.  Ticket strips for WBC games played at Marlins Park in Miami and Petco Park in San Diego - which will include tickets for all games at that particular venue - are also available at www.worldbaseballclassic.com. Tickets for WBC games played in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico; Tokyo, Japan; and Seoul, South Korea will go on sale at a later date.
In the United States, tournament games will air live exclusively in English on MLB Network and on an authenticated basis via MLBNetwork.com/watch; while ESPN Deportes and watchespn.com will provide the exclusive Spanish language coverage. Internationally, leading global media rights agency, MP & Silva has teamed with WBCI to distribute the tournament across all forms of television, internet, mobile and radio - all territories excluding the U.S., Puerto Rico and Japan. MP & Silva held media distribution rights for the 2013 World Baseball Classic, when 46 media partners aired the event in more than 200 countries and territories in 15 languages. Games from the 2013 tournament set numerous broadcasting records around the globe.
