A's to open Mount Davis for 1st time in 13 years

July 16th, 2018

Seeking to set a single-game attendance record during this weekend's Bay Bridge Series against the crosstown-rival Giants, the A's announced on Monday that they will open Mount Davis, an upper-deck section in center field at the Oakland Coliseum.
The section has 8,190 seats, and opening it up increases the Coliseum's capacity to 56,782, putting it in position to exceed the stadium's highest attendance ever, which is 55,989 and was set on June 26, 2004 -- also against the Giants.

"By opening Mount Davis we have the chance to set the Athletics all-time attendance record at the Coliseum," said Oakland A's president Dave Kaval. "I invite the Green and Gold faithful to come out and join us as we aim to beat our crosstown rivals, again, and ultimately take the Bay Bridge Series."
Mount Davis will be open only for Saturday's 6:05 p.m. PT game, which will also feature the reunion of the 1989 World Series champion A's, who swept San Francisco.
