Latest on Judge's timeline to return from rib fracture

Yankees slugger is still a “couple weeks” away from undergoing reimaging on his fractured rib, according to manager Aaron Boone.

That puts the Yankees’ captain toward the latter end of the four-to-six-week reimaging timetable the team gave when it announced Judge’s diagnosis -- a fractured first right rib -- on June 4.

Boone provided the update in an appearance on “Talkin’ Yanks” on Tuesday, noting that Judge is improving but hasn’t reached the point where reimaging is necessary.

“It's probably a couple weeks still from reimaging,” Boone said. “They'll determine when they feel like he's doing stuff that [warrants] 'Alright, let's go reimage it now.' We're not at that point yet.

“He's doing some lower-body stuff now in the weight room and moving better. I think he's feeling a lot better this week, anyway.”

Reimaging will give the Yankees a sense of how Judge’s rib is healing and allow the team to determine the next steps of his rehab process. There's no official timetable for Judge's return, but his absence could stretch into August.

The Bronx Bombers played well initially without Judge, going 10-2 from June 4-19, but they’ve dropped eight of their past 10 games while averaging only 2.6 runs scored per game in that span.

Despite his injury, Judge ranked third among American League outfielders in Phase 2 of the 2026 MLB All-Star ballot as of Tuesday.
