NEW YORK -- said he expected the fans to be loud for Friday’s home opener in the Bronx. Just to be certain, the Yankees' captain wasted no time providing them with something to cheer about.

Judge homered in his first Yankee Stadium at-bat of the season, belting a two-run homer to left field off the Marlins’ Eury Perez.

The blast came on a 1-1 slider with Trent Grisham aboard and traveled a Statcast-projected 387 feet, coming off Judge’s bat at 101.2 mph.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said during the Bombers’ season-opening West Coast trip that he sensed Judge is still searching to lock in, but three of Judge’s first four hits this season have been homers.

Judge is the American League’s reigning Most Valuable Player, having claimed the award this past November for the third time in four years.
