ATLANTA – The Phillies got to Truist Park on Sunday morning in a good mood.
They were happy because they won a game on Saturday. It was their first win since April 13, before they embarked on a crushing 10-game losing streak, the franchise’s longest since an 11-game skid in September 1999.
The sloppy play and lifeless offense sparked serious conversations and legitimate questions about the short-term and long-term states of the franchise. Those questions won’t stop following Sunday’s 6-2 loss to the Braves. The Phillies are 9-19 and 10 1/2 games out of first place in the NL East.
Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola allowed seven hits, six runs, three walks and two home runs in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out six. He put the Phils into a 3-0 hole just three batters into the game.
Ronald Acuña Jr. hit an infield single at 109.4 mph. Drake Baldwin followed with another single at 109.4 mph. Matt Olson crushed a three-run homer at 105.4 mph.
Nola left the game with a 6.03 ERA, just a tick higher than his career-worst 6.01 ERA in 2025.
Braves left-hander Chris Sale allowed one hit in six scoreless innings as the Phillies' struggles continued against left-handed pitching.
