Academy athletes Caleb Adams, Santiago Pereira, Reese Worley and Santos Salinas announce commitments to collegiate programs

26 Youth Academy athletes from the class of 2026 are slated to compete at the collegiate level

Caleb Adams, Santiago Pereira, Reese Worley and Santos Salinas are the latest Texas Rangers Youth Academy athletes to announce commitments to continue their baseball and softball careers at the collegiate level. This brings the total number of Youth Academy athletes committed to collegiate programs to 26 for the class of 2026.

The Colony High School and Rangers Youth Academy baseball player Caleb Adams will continue his baseball career at Yavapai College’s NJCAA program. Adams, a left-handed outfielder and pitcher, represented the Youth Academy during the 2025 RBI season.

Santiago Pereira, a teammate of Adams at The Colony High School, announced his commitment to continue his career at NJCAA-level Western Texas College. The right-handed shortstop represented the Youth Academy in the 2025 RBI Regional and Breakthrough Series Invitational.

Youth Academy softball player Reese Worley will continue her athletic career at Arkansas State University Mountain Home’s NJCAA program. Worley, a catcher and left-handed batter, has trained with the Youth Academy since 2024 and competed during the 2025 RBI season.

Santos Salinas, Moisés E. Molina High School and Youth Academy baseball player, announced this month his commitment to continue his career at NAIA-level Dillard University. The right-handed pitcher represented the Youth Academy at several Breakthrough Series Invitationals, Commissioner’s Cups and RBI Regionals.

2026 Rangers NIKE RBI registration now open

  • What is it: Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a national program with the full support of Major League Baseball, Nike and the Texas Rangers. The program’s purpose is to maintain and promote fundamentals, sportsmanship, character and appropriate behavior among all participants. Rangers Nike RBI 2026 runs from May 18 through Aug. 7.
  • Divisions available: There are five divisions for the 2026 season:
    • Senior baseball: age 16-18 as of 5/1/26
    • Junior baseball: age 13-15 as of 5/1/26
    • Senior softball: age 14-18 as of 9/1/25
    • Junior softball: age 12-15 as of 9/1/25
    • Development league baseball: age 13-17 as of 5/1/26
  • How to register: Registration can be found at rangersrbi.leaugeapps.com. Registering does not guarantee athlete placement on a roster. Players will attend tryouts to showcase their skills and compete for a roster spot.

2026 Spring Training Camp begins March 23

  • What is it: Spring Training Camp consists of six weeks of fundamental training broken down by age group. The Youth Academy Training Complex will be open to specific age groups for two-hour evening sessions, providing additional opportunities for athletes to refine their skill sets.
  • Timing breakdown: Training sessions run from 6:30-8:30 p.m., except for 8U baseball and 9U softball sessions, which run from 6:30-8 p.m.
    • Monday: 15U Baseball, 9U Softball
    • Tuesday: 12U Baseball
    • Wednesday: 18U Baseball, 18U Softball
    • Thursday: 10U Baseball, 8U Baseball, 12U Softball
