ANAHEIM -- Mariners first baseman Adam Lind will likely miss three or four days with a sprained right index finger, manager Scott Servais said prior to Monday's series opener with the Angels.
Lind hurt the finger when he dove for a ground ball in the second inning of Sunday's 3-2 win over the A's. He stayed in until the fifth inning before being replaced by Dae-Ho Lee, but he's now dealing with swelling.
"He was actually swinging the bat very well, and his quality of at-bats have been much better of late," Servais said. "But he's going to be out maybe three or four days. There is some significant swelling in the finger, so it's going to be tough for him to grip a bat for a couple days."
The 33-year-old has split time at first base this season with Lee in a platoon situation and has posted a .232/.279/.443 line with 20 home runs and 57 RBIs in 357 at-bats.

• Servais said the plan as of now is to stay in rotation after Thursday's off-day, which means Félix Hernández will pitch Friday's series opener against the Astros at Safeco Field, followed by James Paxton on Saturday and Aríel Miranda on Sunday.
• Outfielder Tyler O'Neill, the Mariners' No. 2 prospect per MLBPipeline.com, was named the Double-A Player of the Year by Baseball America on Monday.
• Edwin Díaz is already just the fifth rookie in Mariners history to reach 15 saves. He needs one more to tie Danny Farquhar (2013) and Enrique Romo (1977) for No. 2 on the list, though he won't be catching rookie record holder Kazuhiro Sasaki's 37 in 2000. The other rookie to reach 15 was Mike Schooler in 1988.
