October 29th, 2018

ARLINGTON -- Third baseman is one of four Rangers who became free agents on Monday with the World Series coming to an end on Sunday.
The club's other free agents are pitchers Tony Barnette, and .
Pitchers Doug Fister and Matt Moore will also become free agents when the Rangers decline their options. The club is expected to pick up the option on catcher , while nothing has been decided on the $7.5 million option for pitcher .

Beltre has not informed the Rangers if he will retire this offseason. There were strong indications at the end of the regular season that Beltre might be done, but he said he will think about it and talk with his family before making a final decision.
Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has stayed in contact with Beltre, and the club is not expected to make a qualifying offer to any of its free agents. The deadline for clubs to extend a qualifying offer to free agents is Friday at 4 p.m. CT. And then players have 10 days to accept or reject the offer (Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. CT).
Colon and Gallardo are still hoping to pitch next season. Colon is not expected to be back with the Rangers, while Gallardo's situation depends on what else the club does this offseason. Barnette could be of interest to the Rangers as they consider how best to rebuild their bullpen.
