ARLINGTON -- Adrian Beltre will hold a press conference to formally announce his retirement at 11 a.m. CT Friday at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
The announcement will be televised live by FOX Sports Southwest and streamed live on MLB.com and texasrangers.com. Dana Larson and Mark McLemore will host a broadcast from the studio, while game broadcasters Emily Jones, Dave Raymond and C.J. Nitkowski will provide updates and commentary.
Beltre announced his retirement on Nov. 20 through a statement released by the Rangers. This will be his first time speaking live and answering questions since the announcement.
The third baseman retired after 21 seasons with 3,166 hits, 477 home runs and 1,707 RBIs in 2,933 games. He was a four-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glove winner. He is also the first player from the Dominican Republic to reach 3,000 hits.
Beltre began his career with the Dodgers in 1998, and later played with the Mariners and Red Sox before signing with the Rangers in 2011. The Rangers won three division titles during Beltre's eight years with the club and he played in his only World Series with Texas in '11 against the Cardinals.
