Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said the team would wait until after Pollock's game on Saturday before determining the next steps for the 29-year-old.

"He had a really good day [Friday]. He was on the bases, he ran through the bases, he got around the bases and tested it about as much as he could," Lovullo said before the D-backs' 5-4 win over the Phillies. "We're all comfortable with getting him up there for rehab and seeing where that takes us."

Pollock has been working to get his stride back after the injury and was running at close to 100 percent earlier this week. He showed he was healthy enough to play in a game again Friday.

Pollock, who has been able to take batting practice with the injury, will have the day off on Sunday, regardless of how Saturday's game goes, Lovullo said. Barring any setbacks, he'll be on the field again after that as he gets reacclimated.

"It's more about getting into the rhythm of the game the way he wants to play, [an] aggressively attacking style of baseball," Lovullo said. "And to understand in his own head, that his lower half is ready for those challenges."

Lovullo said he would like to see Pollock have at least 10-15 at-bats during the rehab assignment, but did not speculate on a date he could rejoin the club.

In 37 games before the injury this season, Pollock was hitting .299/.337/.455.
