Alex Bregman played the hero Monday night for Double-A Corpus Christi, hitting a pair of home runs, including a walk-off shot in the 12th inning to give the Hooks a 5-4 win over Springfield.
Batting second, Bregman, the Astros' No. 1 prospect, got the scoring started with a two-run homer to left field, his first at the Double-A level, in the bottom of the first inning. He failed to reach base in his next four trips to the plate before coming to bat with two outs in the bottom of the 12th, when he drove Cardinals reliever Joey Donofrio's 0-1 offering over the left-field wall for the win.

The multi-homer performance as well as the walk-off were both career firsts for Bregman, whom the Astros selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 Draft after an outstanding college career at LSU. The 22-year-old shortstop, MLBPipeline.com's No. 21 overall prospect, split his pro debut last summer between Class A Quad Cities and Class A Advanced Lancaster, hitting a combined .294/.366/.415 with 21 extra-base hits and 13 stolen bases in 66 games while recording nearly as many walks (29) as strikeouts (30).
Bregman is hitting .368 and has now hit safely in each of the Hooks' first five contests.

• Dodgers No. 2 prospect Julio Urias was dominant in a 4-0 win over Memphis as he struck out nine batters over five scoreless innings. Baseball's No. 3 overall prospect scattered four hits and did not issue a walk in the outing, throwing 49 of his 73 pitches for strikes.

• Indians top prospects Bradley Zimmer and Clint Frazier both homered for Double-A Akron. Zimmer hit two homers and Frazier cracked his first for the RubberDucks in a 9-1 win over Altoona.

• Phillies Nos. 1 and 6 prospects J.P. Crawford and Jorge Alfaro both collected three hits in Double-A Reading's 8-5 win over Richmond. Crawford, MLBPipeline.com's No. 4 overall prospect, finished with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, while Alfaro, No. 95 on the Top 100, hit a pair of doubles, plated three runs and scored twice.

• Cubs No. 2 prospect Willson Contreras (No. 49 overall) collected four of Triple-A Iowa's 14 hits in a 9-1 win over New Orleans, going 4-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.
• Nationals No. 3 prospect Victor Robles (No. 62 overall) hit his first home run of the season -- and his first as a member of Class A Hagerstown -- and scored two runs and stole in a base as the Suns defeated Lakewood, 4-3.
• Diamondbacks No. 1 prospect Braden Shipley (No. 66 overall) scattered four hits over 5 1/3 scoreless innings to record the win in his debut for Triple-A Reno, while No. 14 prospect Jack Reinheimer paced the Aces' offense by going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs -- his third multi-hit effort in four games. No. 10 prospect Peter O'Brien tagged his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the first inning.
• A's No. 2 prospect Sean Manaea (No. 67 overall) picked up the win in his debut for Triple-A Nashville, allowing one earned run on four hits and striking out six in 5 1/3 innings. The left-hander pitched well this spring in his first camp with the A's, striking out 16 hitters in 14 1/3 innings across five outings (three starts).
• Orioles No. 6 prospect Trey Mancini blasted his third home run in four games as Double-A Bowie defeated Erie, 11-9. In 2015, Mancini was named MVP of the Eastern League after hitting a robust .359/.395/.586 with 13 home runs, 29 doubles and 57 RBIs in 84 games for Bowie.
• Indians No. 8 prospect Francisco Mejia fell a home run shy of the cycle in Class A Lake County's win over West Michigan and finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a walk. No. 22 prospect Tyler Krieger, the Tribe's fourth-round pick in the 2015 Draft who spent last summer recovering from labrum surgery rather than making his pro debut, was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a stolen base.
• Yankees No. 13 prospect Ben Gamel also flirted with the cycle on Monday, going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a walk and a stolen base as Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre edged Pawtucket, 6-3.
• James Kaprielian, the Yankees' No. 4 prospect and first-round Draft pick from 2015, was excellent in his Class A Advanced Tampa debut, allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out nine in five innings. Though he finished his pro debut last summer at Class A Short Season Staten Island, the Yankees sent the 22-year-old righty directly to the Florida State League, bypassing the Class A level entirely, for his first full campaign.
• Padres No. 27 prospect Austin Allen, the club's fourth-round Draft pick in 2015, continued his torrid start to the season with three more hits in Class A Fort Wayne's 4-2 win over Great Lakes, giving him 14 in his first 18 at-bats (.778 average).
• Pirates No. 14 prospect Mitch Keller, one of the club's projected breakout prospects for 2016, dominated in his first full-season start, allowing just one hit and striking out 10 batters over five scoreless innings for Class A West Virginia in a no-decision against Greenville.

• A pair of former high-profile international signings paced Class A South Bend to a 7-6 win over Bowling Green, as Cubs No. 15 prospect Eddy Martinez went 2-for-3 with his first professional home run and No. 10 prospect Eloy Jimenez connected on his first of the year -- a walk-off shot with one out in the ninth inning.
• After coming over from the A's along with Jacob Nottingham in the offseason Khris Davis trade, Brewers No. 21 prospect Bubba Derby was impressive in his organizational debut as he scattered five hits and struck out eight hitters over 5 2/3 scoreless frames as Class A Brevard County shut out Fort Myers, 2-0.
• Rangers No. 16 prospect Andy Ibanez has already made a statement with his bat early in his U.S. debut, and he continued to rake in Class A Hickory's shutout of Greensboro on Monday, when he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.
• Dodgers No. 30 prospect Kyle Farmer is more than halfway to his 2015 home run total (three in 120 games) after hitting a pair of long balls as part of a 3-for-5 performance in Double-A Tulsa's rout of San Antonio. He also legged out a triple in the contest and drove in four runs.
