Dickerson pushes hit streak to 12 games

Triple-A El Paso left fielder Alex Dickerson went 2-for-3 with a walk Saturday night to extend his hitting streak to 12 games in the Chihuahuas' 3-0 loss to Fresno.
Dickerson, 25, a graduate of Poway High, raised his batting average to .364. First baseman James Loney (.314) had two of the Chihuahuas five hits.
Right-handed starter Jeremy Guthrie (0-3, 9.36 ERA) allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk with three strikeouts over seven innings for El Paso (9-12). Right-hander Tayron Guerrero (0.00 ERA) struck out one in a perfect inning. The game was completed in exactly two hours, making it the fastest game in Chihuahuas' franchise history.
Meanwhile, Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore (10-13) scored a 3-2 California League win over Lancaster at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
Right fielder Luis Tejada (.143) hit a two-run homer in three at-bats. Third baseman Josh Van Meter (.304) was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Designated hitter River Stevens (.262) was 3-for-3 with a double.
Left-handed starter Thomas Dorminy (7.97 ERA) allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings.
But it was right-handed relievers T.J. Weir and Colby Blueberg who claimed the victory. Weir (1-1, 0.71) allowed a hit with four strikeouts in two scoreless innings to be credited with the win. Blueberg (2.35) struck out one in a scoreless inning to get his third save.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (8-14) -- MIDLAND 4, Missions 3: 2B Taylor Lindsey (.322) was 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored and RH Nick Schulz (.250) hit a home run in four at-bats. But it was not enough for San Antonio to avoid a sixth straight loss. Starting RHP Bryce Morrow (0-2, 7.36 ERA) allowed four runs on nine hits and four walks with a strikeout in five innings. RHP Eric Yardley (2.45) allowed two hits with three strikeouts in two scoreless innings. RHP Kyle Lloyd (3.65) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning.
CLASS A FORT WAYNE (12-10): The TinCaps' scheduled home game against Burlington Saturday night was rained out and will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday.
