Yankees, Red Sox prospects added to Fall Stars Game rosters

MESA, Ariz. -- The Yankees and Red Sox might have a heated rivalry at the Major League level, but on Wednesday, they shared in an Arizona Fall League honor. Yankees third-base prospect Miguel Andujar and Red Sox prospect Mauricio Dubon have been added to the annual Fall Stars Game by virtue of the Fan Final 2 Vote, presented by Bowman Baseball Cards. The 11th annual Fall Stars Game will take place on Saturday at Surprise Stadium and be broadcast on MLB Network, as well as streamed live on First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

Andujar, No. 7 on the Yankees Top 30 prospects list, earned 34.95 percent of the vote to land the last spot on the East Division roster. Dubon, who comes in at No. 12 on the Red Sox Top 30 and has been playing both shortstop and center field for the Surprise Saguaros, gets the nod for the West Division.

The vote for the East Division roster spot was extremely close. Andjuar narrowly edged Cubs second baseman Ian Happ (34.13 percent). Mets shortstop wasn't too far off with 30.92 percent of the vote in the division. Dubon ran away with the West Division vote, garnering a majority (51.82 percent) to beat the Reds' and White Sox outfielder Courtney Hawkins.

This was the second annual Fall Stars Final 2 Fan Vote, leaving it to fans to choose the 26th men for each roster.

Andujar, a 21-year-old third baseman who reached Double-A this season, has performed well this fall, with a .326/.423/.395 line over his first 13 games. He's walked (eight) more times than he's struck out (five) and has made a number of outstanding plays at the hot corner for the Scottsdale Scorpions.

Dubon, who is working to become the first Honduran-born player to reach the big leagues, has hit .267/.283/.489 over 11 games. The 22-year-old has five extra-base hits -- two doubles, a triple and two homers -- in 45 at-bats, after a regular season that saw him also reach Double-A and hit a combined .323/.379/.461.

This year's edition of the Fall Stars Game will feature a vast assortment of talent on one field. A total of 16 members of's Top 100 prospects list will be on hand. With the additions of Andujar and Dubon, the number of additional team Top 30 prospects on rosters increases to 23.
