The Angels selected 30 players on day three of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, as announced by Angels' Director, Scouting Matt Swanson. The Angels selected outfielder Jordon Adell (Ballard HS) in the first round (10th overall) of the draft on Monday, June 12.
Overall, the club selected 23 pitchers (18 RHP & five LHP) and 17 position players (three catchers, four infielders & 10 outfielders). The Angels drafted 20-or-more pitchers for the first time since 2014 (22). The Angels draft picks included 28 college players and 12 high school players. Peyton Glavine (37th round), out of Blessed Trinity HS, is the son of Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine.
The Angels selected three players that either attended school in California or are originally from the state. The Halos selected two players each out of University of Texas, Austin and T.R. Miller HS (Brewton, AL).
