NEW YORK -- Braves right-hander Anibal Sanchez, on the disabled list because of a right hamstring injury, pitched a simulated game at Citi Field on Tuesday and didn't experience any problems, according to manager Brian Snitker. Sanchez pitched four innings and threw 60 pitches.
"His stuff was really good. He was moving the ball around," Snitker said. "He didn't feel anything, so that was good, too. He has been doing the running, so we'll see. Anytime you do [the running], the day after will be important. We'll give him a good workout again tomorrow. We'll see where we are at then."
After Sanchez takes pitchers' fielding practice on Wednesday, the Braves have to figure out what to do with him, as the right-hander hopes to pitch this weekend against the Giants.

But Snitker declined to tip his hand. The skipper wants to see Sanchez work out first before a decision is made. Asked if Sanchez would replace rookie right-hander Mike Soroka in the rotation, Snitker said, "I don't think we are going to commit to anything right now. The next available slot would be Sunday. We are going to play it out."
Sanchez has pitched in three games (two starts) for Atlanta this season and has allowed two runs in 14 innings with 14 strikeouts.
Worth noting
Soroka -- the No. 3 prospect in the Braves' system according to MLB Pipeline -- started on Tuesday against the Mets, meaning right-hander Julio Teheran will get an extra day of rest according to Snitker. Instead of pitching Wednesday, Teheran will pitch Thursday afternoon at Citi Field. Teheran left Friday's start against the Phillies with a tight right trapezius muscle. He seemed to be OK as he threw a bullpen on Sunday in Philadelphia.
