There was a flurry of Minor League signings on Tuesday, and with just over two weeks until Major League clubs report to Spring Training, the Hot Stove is expected to heat up.
Here's a look at some of the latest rumors circulating around the big leagues:
Indians interested in Uribe
The Indians are looking for a third baseman and the club continues to target free agent Juan Uribe, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
Uribe has been linked to the Indians in multiple reports this offseason and the team's interest in the veteran is rumored to be limited to a one-year contract.
Uribe, who turns 37 next month, is known as an excellent defender and a strong presence in the clubhouse. He split last season between the Dodgers, Braves and Mets, combining to hit .253 with 14 home runs and 43 RBIs.
If the Indians sign Uribe, he would be expected to share time at third base with Giovanny Urshela.
Braves to hold workout with Lazarito
The Braves are scheduled to hold a private workout on Saturday for Cuban prospect Lazaro Robersy Armenteros Arango, also known as "Lazarito," reports MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez. The workout will be held at the club's academy in the Dominican Republic.
Armenteros, 16, is expected to sign with a big league club next week. Ranked No. 8 on MLB.com's Top 30 International Prospects list, Armenteros was declared a free agent by Major League Baseball last month and he can sign with a team starting Feb. 10.
Armenteros has been holding private workouts for clubs during the past two weeks. Because of his age and experience, he is subject to international signing guidelines. In addition to the Braves, the Dodgers, Giants, Cubs and Royals are all said to be in play for the outfielder.
Buehrle won't rule out comeback
Mark Buehrle is not planning to sign with a big league club, but he's not ready to officially retire, either, and is leaving the door open for a possible comeback in the future, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
Buerhle, who turns 37 next month, was an effective starter for the Blue Jays in 2015, going 15-8 with a 3.81 ERA and four complete games in 32 starts.
