The Oakland A's optioned left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp to Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
 
Surkamp was recalled on Tuesday for his third stint with the A's this year and started that night against Minnesota. He allowed three runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings and had a no decision in the A's 7-4 win. Surkamp is now 0-3 with a 6.41 ERA and .322 opponents batting average in six starts with the A's. He is also 2-1 with a 3.91 ERA and .202 opponents batting average in four starts with Nashville.
