Asdrúbal Cabrera returned from the disabled list with a performance that earned him National League Player of the Week honors.
The Mets shortstop hit an NL-best .545 (12-for-22) this week, with three home runs, eight RBIs and a .583 on-base percentage. His 25 total bases and 1.136 slugging percentage last week led the NL.
The switch-hitting Cabrera hit home runs from both sides of the plate in New York's 9-4 win over Philadelphia on Friday, the same night he also made a spectacular diving tag from shortstop on a close play at third base.

The award was the third Player of the Week honor for Cabrera, who won the American League award in 2008 and '11.
Cabrera's week ended on an uncertain note when he was removed in the first inning of Sunday's 5-1 loss with a recurrence of a left knee injury.
Cabrera earned the award over other strong candidates, including Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado (12 hits, 1.000 slugging percentage), D-backs catcher Welington Castillo (10 RBIs, .458 OBP), Dodgers first baseman Adrián González (.321 average, 13 RBIs) and Nationals center fielder Trea Turner (16 hits, four stolen bases).
