Hinch excited to see Astros' sweet '16

Manager enters season optimistic about club's young stars

April 3rd, 2016

Astros manager A.J. Hinch has a lot to be optimistic about as the 2016 regular season draws closer. His team is considered one of the best in the American League with young, marketable stars like AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel, AL Rookie of the Year Carlos Correa and three-time All-Star Jose Altuve.
The Astros are bursting with talent, but like most teams, they have issues as well. They're unproven at first base, lack offensive production at catcher and still tend to pile up strikeouts.
Hinch recently took some time with MLB.com to talk about some of the issues central to his team heading into his second season as manager.
Hinch discussed long shot Tyler White making the 25-man roster, the depth of the pitching rotation, how the back end the bullpen might look and the anticipation of having Correa, Carlos Gomez, George Springer, Mike Fiers and Ken Giles for a full season.
