Astros sign 7 more Draft picks

4th-rounder Adcock, 6th-rounder Wrenn lead group

HOUSTON -- The Astros announced Thursday they had signed seven more players who were taken in the 2016 MLB Draft, including fourth-round pick Brett Adcock, a left-handed pitcher from Michigan, and sixth-round pick Stephen Wrenn, an outfielder from Georgia.
Also officially signing were right-handed pitcher Nick Hernandez (eighth round, Houston), left-handed pitcher Ryan Hartman (ninth round, Tennessee Wesleyan), right-handed pitcher Dustin Hunt (10th round, Northeastern), left-handed pitcher Carmen Benedetti (12th round, Michigan) and infielder Brody Westmoreland (30th round, College of Southern Nevada). The Astros have announced they have signed 13 of their 40 selections from the Draft, including six of their top 10 selections.
First-round pick Forrest Whitley, a right-handed pitcher from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, remains unsigned.
Meanwhile, second-round pick Ronnie Dawson, an outfielder from Ohio State, has also signed, though the team hasn't announced it. Dawson is in Houston and will take batting practice on the field Friday prior to the game against the Reds.
MLB.com's Jim Callis reported the following signing bonuses for Astros' Draft picks: fifth-round pick Abraham Toro-Hernandez ($250,000), Adcock ($430,000), Wrenn ($257,900) and Hernandez ($125,000).
