Athletics to host annual FanFest on Saturday

OAKLAND -- The A's will host their annual FanFest on Saturday in Jack London Square.

The family-friendly event will begin with an A's Welcome Walk at 9:30 a.m. PT, starting at Scott's Seafood on Broadway and leading to the Ferry Lawn. Players will be introduced at the main stage at the Ferry Lawn at 10 a.m.

The family-friendly event will begin with an A's Welcome Walk at 9:30 a.m. PT, starting at Scott's Seafood on Broadway and leading to the Ferry Lawn. Players will be introduced at the main stage at the Ferry Lawn at 10 a.m.

FanFest will include autograph, photo and question-and-answer sessions with current A's players, alumni, coaches and broadcasters. The free event will also feature the A's four World Series trophies, free food trucks, a kids zone and A's merchandise.

Players -- including Matt Chapman, Matt Olson and Marcus Semien -- are scheduled to join and interact with fans throughout the day. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet members of the 50th Anniversary Team, including Rickey Henderson, Vida Blue and John "Blue Moon" Odom.

The A's will hold a media event on Friday to unveil a special 50th Anniversary season jersey. Following the media event, players will be available for interviews.
