May 7: RHP selected from Triple-A Las Vegas; RHP optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas; OF designated for assignment
Jiménez has struggled with command this season, walking 13 batters in 14 2/3 innings while posting a 3.68 ERA across 15 relief appearances for the A’s. Before Tuesday’s game against the Rangers, manager Mark Kotsay said Jiménez could return later this season once he corrects some mechanical flaws that were identified.

“We want Dany to be the Dany that he was last year,” Kotsay said. “His mechanics are a little bit off right now. … Dany can go down, reset, get his mechanics right, come back and be that guy we know he can be in the seventh inning.”

Ferguson, who lasted in big league camp with the A’s as a non-roster invite until the final days before the regular season, has continued pitching well at Triple-A, allowing eight runs (four earned) in 14 games for the Aviators, with 24 strikeouts and five walks in 15 innings. The 30-year-old righty will slot into the bullpen as an option for the middle innings.

“It was a tough decision coming out of camp to leave Tyler off the roster,” Kotsay said. “He’s continued to pitch well at Triple-A. We felt confident about rewarding him and getting him up here with this opportunity to pitch.”

Armenteros, who signed with the A’s as a 17-year-old out of Cuba for $3 million during the 2016-17 international signing period, was added to the club’s 40-man roster this offseason but struggled at Triple-A this season, hitting .133 with a .528 OPS and 37 strikeouts in 72 plate appearances.

May 6: RHP (back) placed on 15-day injured list; LHP recalled from Triple-A

The right-hander, who holds a 7.16 ERA in seven starts with 29 strikeouts and 23 walks in 27 2/3 innings this season, will be shut down from all baseball activity until the injury subsides.

Harris, 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA in six starts for Triple-A Las Vegas, will pitch out of the bullpen with Oakland.
