Allen's hitting streak ties TinCaps' record

Pitchers Lauer, De Los Santos, Lloyd have strong outings

Austin Allen extended his hitting streak to a franchise record-tying 23rd straight game Thursday night and first-round Draft pick Eric Lauer pitched four scoreless innings in the Padres' system.
Right-handed pitchers and Kyle Lloyd also had strong outings.
Allen, 22, entered Thursday night's game against Bowling Green in the top of the fifth when the TinCaps' other catcher, Marcus Greene Jr., had to leave after being hit by a foul tip. Allen doubled in the bottom of the inning.
Allen (.322) finished 1-for-2 with a RBI. The 23-game streak tied the Fort Wayne record set in 1999 by former Padres' third baseman Sean Burroughs.
Lauer, 21, the 25th overall pick of the Draft, gave up three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over four innings with short-season Class A Tri City Thursday. The left-hander has worked 13 straight scoreless innings for the Dust Devils. Lloyd, 25, was charged with two unearned runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings for Double-A San Antonio. He has a 6-5 record on the season with a 3.52 ERA.
De Los Santos, 20, the 17th-ranked prospect in the Padres' system, allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts over seven innings in Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore's 2-1 win at Rancho Cucamonga. De Los Santos has a 4-3 record with a 4.44 ERA. The Storm is now 28-19 in the second half of the California League season and 60-57 overall.
Right-hander Colby Blueberg (2.73 ERA) followed De Los Santos and worked a perfect inning. Right-hander Phil Maton (1.19) struck out two in a perfect ninth to get his eighth save for Lake Elsinore.
Center fielder Michael Gettys (.298) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for the Storm. First baseman (.288) was 2-for-4 with a run batted in. Third baseman Ty France (.304) was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (23-23, 45-71): Arkansas 4, MISSIONS 0. San Antonio committed five errors leading to three unearned runs. RHP Adam Cimber (2.27) followed Lloyd and allowed an unearned run on two hits in an inning. LHP (1.19) issued two walks in a hitless/scoreless inning. RHP Yimmi Brasoban (2.36) gave up a run on two hits and a walk in an inning. C (.203) was 2-for-4.
CLASS A FORT WAYNE (18-28, 54-62): Bowling Green 7, TIN CAPS 2. 2B Peter Van Gansen (.215) was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a RBI. Starting RHP (0-2, 4.58 ERA) allowed three runs on six hits with four strikeouts in five innings. RHP Blake Rogers (5.59) allowed three unearned runs on four hits with a strikeout in three innings.
SHORT-SEASON TRI-CITY (5-9, 24-28): Spokane 2, DUST DEVILS 0. RHP Adrian De Horta (0-1, 4.38 ERA) followed Lauer and allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with a strikeout in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss. RHP Daniel Erb (2.57) pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings. C Kyle Overstreet (.232) was 3-for-4 with a double. .

DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE PADRES (28-30): Diamondbacks 6, PADRES 4 (11 innings). 3B Eguy Rosario (.347) was 2-for-6 with a double and a RBI. DH Kelvin Melean (.271) was 2-for-5 with a sacrifice fly, two steals and a run scored. Starting LHP Omar Fernandez (0.81 ERA) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with a strikeout in three innings. LHP Aaron Lezama (2.36) issued two walks in two hitless innings. RHP (2.08) allowed a run on two walks in 1 2/3 innings. RHP Jonathan Guzman (2.73) allowed a run on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
